Chinese Admissions

Upper Room CPA and URCS are pleased to announce our partnership with the Sino-U.S. Educational Alliance and it's member Admission's offices all across The People's Republic of China to recruit Chinese students to our school here in Dix Hills, Long Island and to our College Preparatory Academy (CPA).

The Sino-U.S. Educational Alliance (SUEA) has been authorized and approved as the Educational Management Group and Official Admissions Office of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).  SUEA and it’s authorized admissions offices in China are the official representative of the Chinese government to promote, market, publish and distribute all admissions material approved by SUEA member high schools, colleges, and universities for distribution in China.   SUEA and it’s authorized admissions offices in China are authorized to perform all admissions services on behalf of Chinese families and students to attend Upper Room Christian School and Upper Room College Preparatory Academy along with other member schools; and are authorized to invoice and collect all student tuition and fees and forward payments to member high schools, colleges and universities, in a timely manner to facilitate student enrollment.

SUEA and it’s authorized admissions offices are authorized to act as the official educational management group to counsel, guide, and advise Chinese students through their educational, professional and career life to secure the appropriate visa requirements to maintain professional and business careers in the U.S. or to transfer students back to China to serve their country in their respective professions and fields of study.  SUEA and it’s authorized admissions offices in China are licensed and approved by the PRC to join other professional, educational, school and student related agencies and associations on behalf of the PRC to promote and place Chinese students into U.S. high schools, colleges and universities.

The Sino-U.S. Educational Alliance will use its influence and resources throughout China to develop sister school/friendship school relationships, and memberships with prestigious Chinese Middle Schools and High Schools to provide all student admissions and placement services to Upper Room CPA and other SUEA member schools.

All interested Chinese parents, students or other interested Chinese agents must contact the Sino-U.S. Educational Alliance admissions office nearest you in China or contact our U.S. National Headquarters  at 1-646-533-2327 for member school applications and admissions information. The Sino-U.S.Educational Alliance is the only authorized admissions office for Chinese student applications to be forwarded to Upper Room Christian School or Upper Room College Preparatory Academy for acceptance and placement in their schools.

URCS and Upper Room-CPA reserves the right to work with credible international agencies and/or individuals in recruiting students from other countries around the world, but all chinese student applicants and admissions services MUST go through an authorized SUEA admissions office to be considered for acceptance.

Tuition and Fees vary based upon which Campus a student has been accepted to; the type of housing available for the student; and/or the College Preparatory Program the student may choose.  Presently, some boarding homes are available at the Dix Hills Campus, along with American Host Home accomodations, and dorm type housing is available at Five Towns College for College Preparatory students.  Tuition and fees usually include ESL and School Lunch, but does not always include transportation, textbooks or meal plans for living on our member school campuses.

For all admissions, tuition and fees, and other finacial information, please contact an official SUEA admsissions office nearest you in China or call our USA National Headquarters Office at: 646-533-2327.  All of our admissions representatives are bi-lingual and are trained to answer all your questions.  You may also email our Admissions Director, Lily Lau, at lily88usa@QQ.com.

Tuition Deposit Requirement

Every international student must pay a tuition deposit prior to applying for their F-1 student Visa. This tuition deposit will be deducted from the balance of your tuition bill, which will be due and payable before the international student arrives at one of our member schools.

 ESL Policy

Every international student attending Upper Room Christian School, or Upper Room-CPA is required to take a TOEFL Test and score a 50 or higher for admissions to certain programs.   If a student scores less than 50 on this initial TOEFL, they will still be accepted, but will require an additional semester of intensive ESL (English as a Second Language) before they are accepted into one of our College Preparatory Programs.  A minimum TOEFL score is not required for students applying for grades 7-11 since ESL classes are required for all international students, each year, throughout grades 7-11.

Each 11th grade student is expected to register, at their own expense, and take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), as offered by the College Board, by the end of 11th grade, and as often as necessary, to obtain the grade required for acceptance to one of our member colleges or universites, usually a minimum of 65 or higher, and for Ivy League applicants a minimum of 100 or higher is required.   Students must take either the iBT (Internet Based Test) version of the TOEFL or the PBT (Paper Based Test) version prior to graduation.

For a student to be exempt from taking ESL or a TOEFL preparation course, a student must score a minimum of 100 on the iBT TOEFL or a 600 on the paper-based TOEFL exam.  All other students are required to take ESL classes each year along with a TOEFL preparation class in either grade 11 or 12.

  School Lunch Fee

The school lunch fee is included in tuition, but please note that if international students decide not to participate in the school lunch program for dietary or any other reasons, there will be no refunds given of school lunch monies.

  Guardianship and Health Insurance

Every international student is required to provide guardianship documents to their host home family, and have a valid U.S. health insurance policy while attending Upper Room Christian School or Upper Room CPA.   The SUEA admissions office will refer you to an American health insurance carrier for you to purchase a health insurance plan before your arrival in the USA.  No student will be accepted without proof of such insurance policy on file in the students records and no student will be accepted without proper immunization records that include a meningitis shot prior to graduation.
